I never would have thought to look at an 800cc bike, but I happened to click on it. The price is right ($2000, 1997). The mileage is high (19,000). It has new chain, tires, clutch. It looks gorgeous and the seller is very close. And I have the money.
This bike is lighter than a vstar 650 and has only 50 hp. I'm 5'7", 170#. Recent MSF course but no further experience.
A good bike to learn on?
I'm looking for a cruiser that I'll be able to ride on the interstate, but its primary use will be commuting on surface streets (top speed 55) and pleasure. I wouldn't be looking at this bike except the price is right. The other bikes I'm considering but having a hard time finding are Vulcan 500, Virago 535, s40/Savage. The s40 was so light I thought I could do something a little heavier.
