Hey all,
I know that this is a very difficult thing to try and troubleshoot over the web, but I figured I would take a shot. I have a 1993 Suzuki bandit and it wont start. The starter engine turns but there is no catching of the engine. It's not like it stalls out, or does a few strokes and then stops... It doesn't do anything, the starter just turns.
The bike was running fine 2 days ago, aside from some difficulty starting it (the starter would have to turn for a while before the engine would catch and start) and to my knowledge nothing has changed. Once running it would stay running (so I doubt it's a bad spark plug/timings on the cylinders firing.)
So far I have tried the following:
1) Checking for loose spark plug connections
2) Made sure fuel was reaching the carburetor
3) Charging the battery/starting it with the battery attached
4) Rolling the bike to the top of a big hill and attempting to jump start it using the clutch (It just did a few cycles and stopped... Didn't sound like it was running)
5) Putting fresh gas in
Any ideas would be awesome. I really don't want to have to take it to a mechanic as I am looking to sell it and what I would pay would probably be about 10% of what the bike is worth....
Thanks!
