Last weekend I picked up this new Trailstar ATV trailer with fold down sides for hauling the Can Am whenever needed. I have a 5x8 motorcycle trailer (same style), but its not wide enough for the Ryker to fit. This week I installed a set of the Erickson Wheel Chocks & Strap Kit and they hold it in place perfectly. For the rear wheel I installed a pair of fold down D-rings, (strapped down the same as the front). Took it out on a test spin on the interstate and locally, put it through a few maneuvers with some hard braking and the machine was solid with no movement. Its the first time I've ever used this style of wheel chock and I really like them. They make it easy to strap down & take off and I dont have to worry about scratching up the A-arms on the front. Tomorrow I will be picking up a full length Roadmaster Guardian rock guard and installing it on the front of the trailer.

Yeah you're right. I've had trucks & trailers for a long time and it does happen every now & then. But I always remember just in case I ever need their labor to help me do something. Funny thing though, no one ever wants to help paint the house...lol.

Just finished installing the Roadmaster Guardian rock guard on the front of the trailer, so that was the last thing to do and its now ready to haul when needed. That Roadmaster Guardian sells for $460 new, I got it at a garage sale for $20 bucks. I couldnt find a reasonably priced rock guard out there, so when I saw this one, I had to stop and ask how much. When she told me the price I jumped off the bike and quickly paid for it. She held it for me until I could come by the next day to pick it up

You just made the "you suck" list.

I agree 100%. Two would be tough though, a space issue. Plus if mounted on the trailer, a matching set could attract thieves.

Well since I got the larger 6x12, I figured I sell the little 5x8 bike trailer that I've had since about 2014. Man, as soon as I placed the ad on CL, I must of received close to a dozen emails on it that first day yesterday. A few more today. A guy is driving 2.5 hours from Fort Myers first thing in the morning to buy it. Must be a trailer shortage going on, that, or I priced it too low. This is it.

Thats a nice big storage box to fit two spares in. I'm looking for something similar, maybe aluminum. So far all the metal ones that I've found are nice and pricy. By the way, that 5x8 sold this morning.

Here is my single axle Motorcycle/ all purpose trailer that I have owned for 21 years. The pictures show my process of replacing the wood flooring. I replaced the original tires about 5 years ago and I carry a spare, locked down when I use it. The ride up ramp makes it easy to use to load ZTR mowers too.

21 years is getting your moneys worth plus some. When I was out looking for mine I noticed that many of the trailers out there probably would only last half as long as that one. Either shoddy materials or shoddy craftsmanship or both. There were some good ones out there too, but like anything else, you get what you pay for.

I'd love to have a trailer like yours, but I would hope to find one already made specifically for the Spyder. I'm not sure where I would keep it when not needed to haul the bike.

CanAm already sells their own APPROVED Towable trailers, wired specifically for the harness on your Spyder and they sell their approved hitches also. Because of 'Weight and Balance' parameters, the importance of which I learned about while in the United States Air Force, (1966 through 1970), the engineering of the CanAm hitch and the units effect on the sophisticated ABS, Traction, lane and swerve control, I'd stick with OEM myself. If you want to TOW your Spyder then I like the trailer in the LINK Larry provided!

I have AAA Plus, which covers my cars, camping trailer, and motorcycles(s). I’ve never wanted to tow a bike to a destination, like a rally or for a vacation, and on the rare occasion that I needed to transport a motorcycle to a shop I have called AAA. Not as convenient as having my own trailer, but it works. And no storage challenge. But maybe one of these days I’ll get one.

The only issue that I've had with AAA and another service that I have with my insurance company is that both times that I've needed them for a tow, it took them five hours or longer to show up. One of those times I was stranded on the side of Interstate 75 just outside of Gainesville, too far to walk anywhere and nothing nearby. The other time was with a bike, I told them it was a motorcycle and I needed a flatbed for the bike, they sent a standard wrecker instead. It only took just about the whole day. Since then, I've dropped AAA, they caused more aggravation than they are worth. On top of that, most dont know how to properly strap down a bike without screwing something up. Hell, some bike owners dont know how either.

5 hours along side of the road, in extreme heat of summer or the cold of winter can KILL or severely injure a person, especially the Elderly or those unprepared for the conditions!

I am not adverse to trailering bike's being pulled by a Luxurious SUV, Pickup or well appointed Motorhome, staying in a KOA or other campground close to the Rally you are attending, unloading the bikes and riding to the event, refreshed and ready to have a good time.

Myself and my Harley Group of Bud's used to ride to Sturgis, SD, from San Bernardino, CA every other year alternating with riding to the 4 corners rally in Ignacio-Durango, CO the next year. 1,290 miles to Sturgis and 765 miles to Ignacio, both Rally's in Mid-August. the hottest time of the summer.

We did, unfortunately point fingers at people pulling a trailer, hauling their spotless custom Harley's on the back of their big diesel pusher motorhome's, enjoying a COOL one, in air conditioned comfort as we rolled alongside of them in 95+ degrees soaring heat for hours and hours on end. We complained to each other about the WUSSIES, until we saw many of them pile out of their motorhomes, with one leg, Back, knee and back braces and these were the obvious disabilities, how about those people with Medical problems that aren't apparent?? Cycle world had a big write up regarding the Trailering issue and they were 100% in favor of doing so for any reason and basically stated that it was people's EGO's that made them judge other's without knowing the facts and I agree!

Yeah, I usually make the ride from Florida to North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee, but this October if I go alone again, I plan on trailering. If a buddy wants to ride and stop overnight somewhere, I'd be willing to ride. But 13 hours of straight riding is getting a little tough on these old bones.
