Recent top end rebuild, bike runs great when warmed up, but haven't been able to solve this remaining issue. When engine is cold it runs like **** at 1/8-1/4 throttle, the power is jerky/inconsistent/hesitating. Its most noticeable when cruising at steady speed. There is also a sort of "burble-y" noise. Anything past 1/4 throttle the power is perfectly consistent and normal. So somethings up with the pilot circuit/needle transition. If I'm parked in neutral and I hold rpms at say 4k, I can feel/hear the power dipping every second or so.
I've spent the last 2 weeks experimenting with different carb settings, tweaking mixture screws, float height, needle position, pilot jets, syncing over and over again. Any deviation from manual stock settings the bike runs worse when warmed up, and doesn't solve the cold issues. So maybe its not a carb issue at all. I've swapped out condenser and plugs. Battery is a year old and holds charge spectacularly. Coil also a year old. Also triple checked static timing, points gap, valve lash. This issue wasn't present before the rebuild.
Trying to think of what things are affected by temperature that could cause this... any ideas?
