If the Arai is also ECE rated, both helmets will give you good protection. What you will probably be getting with the higher price tag is more comfort and convenience features. The fit is just a important as the safety rating. Different helmets fit different shape heads. If the KRE+ fits you well and is comfortable and has all the features you want, buy it.

 

The best helmets for the money are HJC.

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm an HJC fan as well but I'm looking for a single visor helmet that is cheaper than Arai RX7X that passes DOT and ECE 22.06

I like the RPHA 12 so much but if I'm paying that much for a helmet I'd rather go for Arai because here in my country both RX7X and RPHA 12 are $600

 

My HJC i10 with DOT and Snell approval was $200.00 CDN.

 

That's the problem, you can't tell people to like the design of your helmet that's why I specifically mentioned Rpha 12.

People have personal preferences in terms of physical appearance, I'm into aggressive looking helmets that's why I mentioned RX7X, RPHA 11/12 and KRE+.

I don't like how the i10 looks
