Honda Rebel Headlight Bulb Replacement Help

I have a 2000 Honda Rebel 250. The high beam is out and the low beam is getting dim so time to change it. I was hoping it would be just like changing a car headlight but it's not. It does have the stock light on it. Can I change just the bulb? If so can someone give me step by step instructions and what bulb I need?

I'm not sure which kind of bulb the rebel uses, but I have a text in to a friend that should know.

The procedure for changing the bulb is pretty straightforward. Remove the headlight trim, then the lens and reflector.

Unplug the wiring, then twist the bulb out gently. When replacing the bulb, be sure not to get your fingerprints on the glass part. Hold it by the base or wear latex gloves.

There's the headlight break-out on a 2000 Rebel.

If I remember right, they cam stock with an H3 bulb. Many people replaced it with an H4. There's been debate on whether or not the bike can supply sufficient current for the H4 90/120 bulb.

My wife ran an H4 in her Rebel and so did the friend we sold it to. Never had a problem, but I've read (not experienced) where others didn't have as good of luck with the H4.
