Ok, i have searched for this issue and cant find it on the forum. i went out to my bike to go for a ride and noticed that i had forgot to plug in the battery tender so i tried to start it any way. the battery was dead. so i rolled the bike out next to my truck (2500hd gas) to jump it. it fired off right away. after a few moments to warm, i removed the jumper cables. here is where the issue is. i noticed that when i removed the cables the engine began to run a little rough and the tach would bounce between 0 and 1300 and the fuel light, eng temp light would flash as it does when you first turn the key on. my bike will continue running but the instrumentation is constantly cycling, it does not pause at a certain rmp. i then reattached the jumper cables and the bike began to run normally. i have tried charging the battery but it wont charge and needs to be replaced. did i fry my computer? or should a new battery be all i need?

Well try the new battery first, that should fix it, FYI when jumping a bike of a car, leave the car turned off and only leave the cables on long enough to jump the bike, then immediately remove them, or you can push start your bike and not worry about it. I used to do it all the time on my r1
