My Yamaha V Star 1100 Classic died while i was riding it. The oil light came on while I was riding home and then died minuets later. does anyone now what it could be. because i changed the oil in it right when i got it home and still wont start.

How much oil was in it when you drained the old oil out? Will the engine turn over?

The oil light on that bike is not an oil pressure light, it's a low oil level light.

Like Critter asked, how much oil did it have in it?

That information is kinda important in order to answer your question.

Also what did the oil, and filter, look like? (Thick, milky, hunks of metal)?

It would also be nice if you introduced yourself in the New Member Introduction thread. You've given us the bike you have but still not what year. And if you say the state or country you might find there is someone local that can help even further. The possibilities are endless with an introduction. We get to know you just a little.
