The article is about a conceptual 4-cylinder but gives intriguing info on the 2 1/2 cylinder motor in the T-max scooter.

I call it half a cylinder since it's only for balance, not for power/combustion.

I'm thinking (brainstorming) that on deceleration you could use that 3rd cylinder to compress air or pump hydraulic fluid for some sort of take-off assist....
