Just purchased a 1994 XV535 a few days ago. Don't have an owners or service manual yet. Just wondering what that liquid tank right behind the battery is all about?

I believe what you are referring to is the lower fuel tank. The virago has a fairly small tank, and it's shape and placement in relation to the carbs means it needs a secondary fuel tank placed lower in the frame, with an electric fuel pump that pumps back up to the carbs. It also increases the fuel volume.
