50 degrees and sunny this afternoon. And my wife "ran out of time" to go to the vet on her way to work to pick up meds for our elderly dachshund. God bless 'er, she knows I'll jump at any excuse to go for a ride :)

So I got 37 miles of wind and WOT therapy.
Kinda did the same thing yesterday, and very close to same mileage and temps 52. 👍

Well, I ordered some 9” LED light bars for the trunk sides which arrived today. I have matching 4.5” ones for the rear of the trunk but they won’t arrive until Saturday. The side ones you see here will be running/turn as well as the rear ones. Wasn’t able to get them wired in today due to lack of materials to do it properly including quick disconnect waterproof plugs. Will have that Sunday, so I’ll have to post a short video of operation when done.
UPDATE: Well, as usual USPS is jacked up. First the lights were originally to be here last Thursday, then it was Friday, then Saturday. Now who knows! I ordered cable I needed from Amazon and they said delivery Saturday, I ended up getting it Friday. Maybe we should just scrap USPS and give all shipping to Amazon. They are always on time or earlier than promised.

Was hoping to get out today (50 and mostly cloudy) as the wife and I started working on her Prius. She enjoys driving a little too close to folks and paid for it with a nice sized rock through her driver's side parking light. Took longer than I thought it would (of course!) but we got it done! It was about 3pm, so with the clouds, looked like late evening... which I guess it was. :ROFLMAO:

Decided wth, I'm gonna get out for a little while at least, so I geared up, loaded up my 9mm and a few different handloads I've worked up, and headed up to the range. I took the most direct route which puts me on a 4 lane highway that is fun when there isn't much traffic as it has a lot of sweeping turns. Little to no traffic so my internal speed limit was... brisk! I made the turn onto the back road that leads to the range and then, within a mile, turned onto the gravel drive with no cars visible behind me. About 10 seconds later, I hear what sounds like a car alarm chirp coming from the bike and wonder "Why is the bike making that noise?" I hear it again and only then notice I'm being tailed by a state trooper. Oh, sh!t. I pull off the gravel just a bit and raise my visor. Before I can say anything, he pulls beside me and says "Hey! You were going a bit fast coming down the hill back there! I couldn't get you on radar but I'm guessing you were going well over 80. No ticket, but please slow down!" Wow. I said "Absolutely! And thank you very much!" Whew!

Rudolph rides again :)
Rode to the Indian dealer to the Indian riders group meeting for 2 combined events, the Toys for Tots collection and our Coat drive and grocery store gift card drive for Valor House.
I won a bet with my Wife, she thought we would be only ones riding in 25F, she was quite wrong, there were about 10 bikes, I think we are winning over some people who previously winterized their bikes to keep them on the road in colder weather.
This year the dealerships Toys for Tots collection was a collaboration with the Girl scouts ( The owners children are scouts) and combined we probably have 1/2 a pickup load of toys.
Valor House is our clubs adopted charity, they do great work with local homeless veterans, we do a couple of events with them every year.
We already have about 50 new Winter coats, $500 worth of supermarkets cards, and some other donations for this year, we are riding ( or driving , weather dependent) to their facility on 1/14 to deliver all the donations, this is an annual event for us, I'm sure we will have a lot more by the time we go there.

Put this 1.3 bar radiator cap on my 1996 Honda Shadow VT-1100.

It also has a probe sticking down to tell me the temperature of the coolant.
Later after my next ride I'll Report whether it works at all,
although I have no way of verifying the shown temperature's accuracy.

Finished some maintenance on the Harley this morning. I had already cleaned the K&N air filter and had let it dry. Re-oiled it but didn't use the traditional red K&N oil.
I used the K&N BLACK oil; this stuff comes from the tarpits of hell so perfect for a mostly black Harley that was designed for the upcoming zombie apocalypse (Softail Fat Bob).
I like it! I am so easily amused. :)

Put 2023 registration tabs on the plates.
Not sure why when I won't be riding for another 4 months. 😄

My Goldwing went into my heated shop over the weekend for it's winter nap and maintenance. A short time later, the snow started. We ended up with three inches of snow and ice here, dammit.
I'm done for this year.

I rode my Sportsman a couple of miles for a refuel and was reminded of another reason my bikes stay in the garage through winter. Dang wind chill is mean to my face. Of course I COULD wear a helmet ... but probably will just stick with cages for wintertime conditions.
