Is that bike balanced on the centerstand???
:saywhat:
Or is that a block on the far side helping to support it?
You know how well balanced and stable these Beemers are, right? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Seriously, it's on the center stand, and some blocks of wood are under the oil pan in front of the center stand. It sits there rather nicely.

When I simply put it up on the center stand, it rests gently on the rear tire if I have all three pieces of luggage installed. If I take those off, it then rests gently on the front tire. So yeah, well-balanced.

Today Lil Suzy fixed herself and took me about 100 miles over a mountain, to get my meds.

First photo clear; second photo was blurry ... are they before and after pictures?

TODAY I finally got Dr Zee out of my garage and rode to The Motorcycle Garage to order up "make it shorter" parts... mostly DRZ400SM. His weight is comfortable, but height is very uncomfortable. Since I have no need for great suspension travel or offroad clearance, it will have to change to suit me. It is way too nice in every other way to let this one go.

Currently I avoid the straightest route to town via 70mph Highway 93. The Old Darby Road route is gravel, packed, oiled dirt, and some 50-60mph paved roads which suit the current configuration well. However, I really do not like it at zero mph.... too dang tall. It is so much like an updated version of an old-school BSA Gold Star that I cannot resist moving it in that direction.

We got our official freeze warning this morning for tomorrow. One last good day and I have my foot elevated and with ice already.

I live in a forest. Wood burning stoves are commonsense around here. A bit of an annoyance to us is that the US Forest Service claims the right to burn the trees in forest fires, but only occasionally allows us to legally harvest them. Meanwhile, we cut trees and warm ourselves through the Montana winters with the one thing we have in abundance.

Extra bonus for me is that there is a truss plant about a mile away that delivers for free dump truck loads of their kiln-dried mill ends. Super eco-friendly, budget-friendly heat for my house and shop.

I need a wood burning stove in my life.
If you have to buy wood it might not be such a good idea. It depends on location. City folks pay thru the nose for wood generally. I'm lucky and have plenty of dead fall but I do watch the prices just to see how much I'm saving.

Gave my Speedmaster and Tiger their fall washes and parked them in the shed, hooked up the trickle chargers and put those 2 to bed for the winter. Still might get a little riding in this fall, the weather has been great, keeping my Tbird at home just in case.

I'm a "city folk" living here in New Jersey.
I've been heating my home almost exclusively with wood for 44 years now.
And I get most of it for nothing. I just keep my eyes open for people taking down trees and show up with my pickup truck.
There were a few years where I came up short and had to buy it, but only a few.
So my heat has been free for most of the time I've lived here.
(free if you don't count the labor I put into gathering and splitting it.)
