May go back out and wax a little more today. Went for a ride this morning and it was amazing how I could see all the stuff I missed yesterday.

Started it up this morning and while it was idling I checked to make sure all my lights were working properly. I sat on the seat to put on my gloves and helmet and while doing that, I noticed I was under 1/4 tank of fuel. So my first stop was the gas station with no ethanol gasoline.

Then got on that nice crooked US Hwy 62 headed east towards Eureka Springs. Plenty of bikes out today, but not much other traffic. I rode out to Beaver Dam, made a 180 at the overlook without stopping, then rode back to 62 to ride the curves the other way. Its fun both ways even though I was taking my own sweet time about it.

Near noon I was getting hungry. The last bike I crashed, I crashed while I was real hungry, so now I don't like to ride very far when I start getting hungry. I know it makes no logical sense but that's just the way it is for me. So I stopped at the Buss Stop in Garfield, AR. and got me a big greasy cheeseburger and a milkshake. I know, not good, but the pickles, lettuce and tomatoes got to count for something, don't they?

After lunch, it was starting to get hot. I still took the long way home. I parked outside under a shady tree and now I think I will go out there and finish the job I started yesterday.

I mowed this morning. Sure would rather have been riding with you!!! (y)
I'm heading over for my weekly Scrabble clobbering. Hope to ride tomorrow or Monday, maybe Thursday, too. Class next weekend.

I have a mysterious oil splotch under my bike that I need to track down. It feels like chain oil, but it's coming from close to the engine. The shop changed my oil last. Weird, it does it in the garage, but didn't do it at work.

Ah, Scrabble! I like board games but I... do... not... like Scrabble! The closest I can get to that and still have fun is Boggle. I've gotten way better than when I started playing a year ago but both my daughters beat me pretty consistently, regardless.

I've had that happen with my chain after I oil it. No drips at the time, but come back from a ride in warm weather and suddenly I've got 4-5 blobs making me worry! :ROFLMAO:

The job is finished, except for the wheels. But I don't trust the jack to hold my bike upright in the yard even if there is a lot more rocks than grass. Will have to wait until I can park it in the shop so I can safely jack it up. I also set my clock to the right time too. :ROFLMAO:

I wish mostly that the government dipshits would quit jerking our clocks around twice a year. Second on my wish list are clocks that are easy to jerk around twice a year.

Didn't the bill to stop that BS pass a few months ago? Yeah, at this point, I don't care if we keep it DSL or standard. Pick one and leave it the eff alone...

I used to have a Boggle game when I was kid. But I really like Scrabble and I'm just thrilled that this elderly woman had put an ad in our local paper looking for Scrabble players and that I replied! We've been playing for going on three years, I think. (y)I love Trivial Pursuit, too; once in awhile I can get my son to play with me. I like Pictionary, too. Once in a blue moon (like a Sunday when the weather keeps us home) the family will pull out Risk or Monopoly. Years ago my husband and I played Canasta with two other couples and that was a lot of fun. I find that I spend waaaaay too much time in front a screen of some sort instead of playing games or working on puzzles. I do work on crossword puzzles fairly often, though.

I have a Scottoiler (automatic chain oiler) that I'm constantly futzing with. That's what the splotch feels like; it feels a little stickier than engine oil. I need to come up with a mirror-on-a-stick so I can right my bike and then hold the mirror in front of the sight glass. I've done it, but I'm just not comfortable trying to right the bike from the right side. It's only a matter of time before something bad happens. I don't know why they don't put the sight glass on the left side.

Canasta! LOL! My mom taught me how to play and I loved it! Haven't played in so long that I'd forgotten all about it. So many Old School games that are going extinct... except for Bridge. I don't think old folks will ever stop playing that! :ROFLMAO:

So! I got the OE brake fluid flushed AND... soldered the brake switch wire (despite shaking like I had palsy!) without catching anything on fire! Put some heat shrink over it and BAM! I got brake lights at the hand and foot levers!

Oh, and found out that the reason it seemed wonky when all apart is because the lever keeps the little clicker pushed in and lets it out when it is pulled... :ROFLMAO:

When I finished I was ready to take a long afternoon ride but the clouds rolling in had a different plan. Had to settle for a short 15 mile loop but I'll take it!

Glad you got that figured out! Well done!

Busy weekend of riding in perfect weather here, the heat wave finally broke and it was gorgeous out.

Saturday I was ride captain for a group ride with our IMRG, 16 bikes, 19 folks including 3 passengers. I rode my 2016 Vision, it's been sitting since South Dakota while I gave the 2008 some use, it was time to get it out of the garage. Candy and her daughter Missy rode their Scouts and were the group tail gunners since we all were connected on the Sena sets, this was Missy's first time with a job on a group ride and she loved it, she really enjoyed when I called her up a few times to block an intersection to make sure the group got through together. We had a great day, met at 10:00, rode 60 miles of twisty back roads, had a nice lunch at the Riverwalck Saloon, a local place popular with bilkers, then had an 80 mile ride on different roads after lunch, finishing up at Kelly's Ice cream, a local home made ice cream stand on Rt 611 around 3:00 Pm.
A splendid time was had by all.

Sunday Candy and I woke up and decided to take short ride for breakfast so we rode about 50 miles, ate, then decided it was just too nice to go straight home so we went the long way... 160 miles later we made it home. Funny how that happens with motorcycles sometimes on a sunny day.;)
Candy was on her V-strom, I was on my old Honda Hawk, 200 miles on that bike are a bit tough on my knees compared to riding one of my modern bikes and one is a bit stiff today, but it's so much fun ripping around on that little thing, it runs so well for a 45 year old machine.
EDIT, I forgot to mention that 20 miles of one of our favorite twisty roads on this ride was fresh tar and deep gravel, that was a surprise and took a bit of the fun out of it, I kept at the speed limit rather than 'slightly' above it. It made for an interesting challenge though. :)

I just recognized when I touch my bike in the morning the day gets more beautiful. Today I am on business trip, so facetime with my wife she has to show my bike so I can at least look at it. lol
That’s why I ride to work every day, that 62 mile ride in the beautiful pre dawn darkness gets my day started right. We had a full house in the bike lot at work today, it appears that I’m not alone in feeling this way :)

Figured out the splotch: oil weeping from the drain bolt. The shop did the oil change, so the shop gets to fix it as soon as the much-needed rain quits in our drought-parched part of the Ozarks. (y)
Hopefully it's just loose or a bad gasket and not stripped.
