Yesterday I needed to go into the office (I'm normally working from home). I knew what the weather forecast is for this weekend, so I made sure to get in some miles in the saddle. It was actually a very nice day for a ride, upper 30's to mid 40's and sunny.

The wind has been HOWLING here all day, and the snow has been coming down.
I sure as heck will not be riding anywhere for a while.
It may be the start of Spring on the calendar, but it's certainly not spring in
my backyard.
Hmm....Time to grab another arm load of firewood and feed the wood stove.

What did I do to my bike today? I left it sitting safely in the garage while I braved blizzard conditions to drive up to Columbus Ohio from Chatlotte area to pick up my daughters 1st bike! 14hrs of driving.. EGADS! The things a father does for his daughter.

Someone is keeping an "EYE" on Daytona.

Steve posted this on facebook. Seems a Goldwing rider needs to get his brakes fixed, but he has a very strong tow hitch.

Looks like a draw bridge that he tried to beat OR the operator didn’t see him. BTW, the tie ins for those hitches ARE that strong. That’s a long way down! Wonder what happened to the rider or if he had a passenger too?

UPDATE: We’ll, here’s my daughters new bike all washed and waxed. She came up to see it and was ecstatic! Great 1st bike in excellent condition for $2k. View attachment 73291
Looks like way too much bike for a 1st .
Hope she doesn't get 'overworked' with it .
My brother in laws wife had a Harley Sportster and she was fine on the straights , but , anything else chased her out of the riding solo part of the 'sport' .

Well @pdcomm, I took it for a ride and it handles well. She sat on it and it fits her well. It has LOTS of mojo so I need to emphasize the judicious use of the throttle! As long as she remembers that, she should have no problem. Granted, it’s a 1400 and I normally do not recommend larger than a 750 for a newbie rider. She’s very good at taking instruction and I’ll personally be working with her on developing and honing her riding skills. Worst case scenario I do have a V-Star Midnight Custom 1100 that I’m repairing she can have in stead.

What did I do with my bike today?

I rode it to work at 0300 as usual, but for the first time in what seems like FOREVER it was actually WARM, 42F, I left all my heated gear home, just wore my winter jacket. The only heat I used was my heated grips, and I stayed WARM!
Spring is near!
