Me and my lady went for a nice ride on the Street Glide to a nice restaurant in Evansville, Ind. It has been a beautiful day.

Good advice^ .
Always command your space . ;)
Yep 100% agree, that was a lazy parking job, we both know better.

When are you joining the adventure bike community Mike?
I have been thinking about getting one, but I want to ride hers a few more times first, try it for my commute once or twice too. I keep meaning to take it out one day but the weather has been so awful recently I haven’t ridden even my own bike in almost a week.

Dang Mike, you'll forget completely how to ride if you don't get with it( as I sit here on week 2 of not riding :) ). Weather has just been ugly cold and I have to keep my wood burning stove supplied with wood. I'll be back out come this next Tuesday though. I see a somewhat warm day then, I hope.

I ride as much as I can in the winter to keep my skills a notch above dull. A couple of years ago I didn't start the bike for the whole month of January due to rain and snow. It always takes a couple of weeks or so to sharpen them back up.

63 sunny degrees today!!! Took the very scenic route to Branson and found the Panera there, then back to Target in Branson West to drop off recyclables and pick up a couple things, and last stop was the Egg Lady because my chickens have been on strike for over two months.😡 If I remember what the odo read when I left, at gas stops, and when I got home, that should've been around 165 miles! I'll take that on January 31 any time!!!! 😎(y)

How old are they? They slow way down the older they get to the point the lay hardly any. You got to turn them into meat and get new ones all the time. Get a rotation of new ones. That way you always have layers.

Still haven't ridden, I really wanted to today but everything that melted yesterday froze again overnight when it dropped from 35 to 8 and it looked slick in spots. I was right, , I actually skidded my car sideways at the bottom of the hill..would have been an interesting ride. Once I'm past that first 2 miles it would be fine, maybe I need to look into an alternate route to the highway.
Even other routes most likely had similar conditions Mike. You are just stuck until this junk moves out for good it would appear.
Well, I took a chance as I wanted to test my new heated gloves in their natural environment (previously used for shoveling snow and worked okay), so, with the temp around 36F, I geared up with lots of layers and headed out for a little 10 mile loop. Happily, the gloves kept my fingers from feeling cold at all. If I get even 5 extra commuting days, they'll have paid for themselves in gas savings!

Also, found out my rear tire is completely worthless in snow... lol.

Most are. You just point and hope, staying off the throttle or brake unless you must. :)

I wasn't expecting much but thought an ADV tire would give a little traction! No, it might as well have been a racing slick!

No doubt! Maybe if I planned on heading into the snow on the regular but, as my main commuter bike, I gotta stick with a "mostly" street tire...

I finally mounted the new NR77s on the FA50 yesterday .
They seem to be doing a decent job . At least that's my thought after the 6 or 7 mile ride I took to 'test' them . ;)

Finally broke my week long no riding funk, we got out for about 40 miles on Saturday for a test ride ( and pizza and beer for dinner) after doing some work on Candy's Vstrom.

It was chilly at 22F for the day's high but it still felt great to get back on 2 wheels. What we did to the 'Strom is put a set of adjustable lowering links in it and an adjustable kickstand, and set the height about an inch lower than it was. The funny thing was why, after 15K miles, she suddenly needed to lower it! Candy kept swearing the bike was getting taller, I said maybe she was shrinking, then we figured it out. The extra bulk of her winter riding suit was pushing her up and her legs out on the bike, a quick test showed it made a huge difference in how her feet reached the ground, with the winter gear she could only tip toe one foot at a time, with just jeans she can get both feet down 3/4, not quite flat but good enough. That was the difference between comfortable and scary according to her when stopping on a hill or slanted road. This is why we decided on the adjustable links, she might want to go back to stock height in warm weather when she isn't wearing heated over-pants.

Sunday was warmer at 32F so we went out again, we only had a short time due to some other stuff going on but we still rode about 60 miles for pastries, it was a nice day!

I was going to ride to work today but the forecast called for freezing drizzle and it showed up this morning as predicted so I skipped it, but tomorrow looks good...

Don’t push it @mike721. Yep, I got no right to say it because I pushed it nearly every day when it commuted. I think it becomes addictive. If you don’t ride you start having weird withdrawal symptoms.

Ur gutsier than I am, not worried about being cold as I can dress for that, but a bit of water from
rain freezing over. . .I guess tho that you'd see it easily enough? glad u rode, it can break up a
funk in the nicest way.

Definitely got to watch for ice, during the day it's pretty easy, my work commute is in the dark so I'm more careful, usually I only ride it below freezing after it's been bone dry for a day at least, and I know where the trouble spots are on the route and watch for them.
Of course you never know when a pipe will break (happened last week near my house, we had an ice flow on the main road) or something, that's what adds to the excitement :)
