Me and my lady went for a nice ride on the Street Glide to a nice restaurant in Evansville, Ind. It has been a beautiful day.

Went for a nice 150 mile ride today, since it is Christmas Eve I took Rudolph! :)
Had a nice breakfast about 20 miles into the ride then spent the rest of the day cruising around with loud Christmas music playing on the stereo!

We had beautiful weather, a nice warm 38 degrees and clear skies but its going to snow tonight so we filled up the tanks and plugged the bikes in for a winters nap.
Merry Christmas everyone!

That's better! Tell her I said "hi"!
I took the Snorty1200 out for a short ride, had to do some errands that did not involve shopping, but the saddle bags would have held a few items. Took a ride over the Howard F. bridge and headed over to ThunderBay custom cycles,I guess Ray gave everyone a few days vaca time, no one was there either. It was a nice ride, maybe in the upper 60's and the bike ran like a champ, gassed'er up at Sams club with hi-test and after figuring, I am getting around 49 mpg.

Upon heading back to where I keep the bike, I reached down and shut off the fuel valve, so when I get there, there's hardly any gas in the carb's float bowl. I was told this is a good way to keep carb cleaner.
Punctures

Took the rear wheel off, so I can take it to get a new new tire this week.

My 3rd puncture this year.
...

Well i guess u like in usa lovely roads here in uk they are rubbish they dont fill in a hole unless its so deap,

Ive never had a puncture in motor bike or my racing cycles.

I put that green slime in them all it seals most punctures which are mostly thorns.

This stuff works.

Yep sure does

It's TWELVE degrees here today!
I just looked at my bike in the shop, put more wood in the woodstove to keep it warm, and came back inside.
BRRRR!!!
9 degrees right now with a -1 degree windchill factor. It was nice riding in to work this morning!

Took the F150:smile_big:

Sam:angel:
Took the Sporty over to Walmart and bought 3 pair of dungareez, H-D wants close to 60$ for one pair, not from me H-D ! I can buy three good pair for half that and switching them all the time no one pair ever really gets worn out.

Then I took a nice 135 mile ride, the sporty 1200 did just fine, stayed around 60 to 65 and getting 48 to the gallon. I honestly don't know which bike I like the best, The 91 Sporty or the 2015 Wide Glide. Seems a guy with 2 gf's had the same problem, told me, "The one I like the best is the one I'm on". . . Yeah that works.

Since the high temp today was about 19 degrees here, I surely wasn't going anywhere.
So, I went out to my shop and started on my list of winter projects on my Goldwing.
Today, the '99 Wing got LED headlights and position lights.
Those babies are BRIGHT! Too bad I won't be able to try them out until spring.
Tomorrow, I'll try opening up the directional signal units.
I want to convert them from regular bulbs to strips of LED tape inside the cases. The units seem to be sealed up with some sort of hot-melt glue.
This will require care and patience to open them without damaging them.
Well, Dec. 30 I took out the Snorty for a 96 mile ride, she ran like a champ, BUT after she did 96 miles and drank 2 gallons, she crapped out, so I put the petcock on reserve, still no go. I wasn't able to immediately change over to the R as I had a lot of traffic. So I got into a side road and into a parking lot and gave the bike a few sideways rocks then cranked her over, she did start and stayed running but my guess is "She needs a new tank valve" as this happened a few months ago.

Spring of 2013 I had the same issue, stopped running tho I had gas, and as soon as I put in more gas, the bike started right up. So I put in a new valve from DRAG. It had a piece of brass tubing about two inches high and next to it a small hole, which I guess is plugged up. I do have an inline fuel filter.
Desperation set in last week and I took a nice 2 hour ride in between storms. Unfortunately I got covered with brine when I discovered that they were already prepping the roads for the next Winter storm and then spent an hour washing it off in 38F weather as the sun set and the snow started to flurry. The next day we had a foot of snow! on the ground again!

The ride was well worth the frozen fingers from the ice water :)

Is it spring yet?

I feel for ya, Mike.
We have almost two feet of snow on ground here from the two storms we had.
I'm running out of places to pile it.
I can't WAIT to get the bike out for a ride.
Working out packing options for my next tour. Working out what goes where for fast or easy access, priority, weight distribution etc is always a fun puzzle.
Took the bike out and checked her over. Charged up the battery for tomorrow's ride. I'm so glade winter is over in 8 or 9 days.

Hello Offcenter,

I did that up in New England back in the 70's, only the bike was in the garage, not insulated but I had an old
Glenwood laundry heater that burned coal that kept the garage around 45 degrees on the coldest of days. What was interesting though is Taunton, is about twenty miles East of Attleboro, where the stove was manufactured.
You got worse snow in N NJ than I did in PA from that last storm, I actually got out and got about 300 miles between Sunday and Monday. Roads were a bit salty but clear, though there are still some pretty big piles in the parking lots.

Sunday my wife and I rode down to the Clinton Station diner for their excellent burgers for dinner, then Monday I was home alone so I rode over meet my son for lunch , he lives 20 miles away but I took the long way, 125 miles later I was there :)

Today it's snowing AGAIN!!!!

I just got done plowing the driveway AGAIN!
They were saying we'd get 1 to 2 inches.
Bullfeathers! We got more like 4 or 5!
I'VE HAD ENOUGH!!

Spent the last few days getting the Wing road ready to get back to Indiana from Florida and has been a PITA royally. Got it running tires aired up and ride-able but it needs points and timing belts and a major tune up so not really road-able though.
