Me and my lady went for a nice ride on the Street Glide to a nice restaurant in Evansville, Ind. It has been a beautiful day.

Had some great rides over the Labor Day weekend.
But haven't done a thing here the last couple of days. It's been raining more or less continuously since Tuesday afternoon, and it's expected to continue into Thursday morning. (sigh)

Over the weekend I took the new adventure bike to Carson National forest for 3 days of riding the dirt roads and trails. I continue to be impressed with the new bike. It runs like a champ.
Remind me again why we have ethanol in our fuel?
I can give you a couple conspiracy theories, but an actual reason? I don't think there is one. The intent was to decrease our dependence on foreign oil and be better for the environment, but since 10% ethanol increases fuel consumption by 15% that didn't work. I TRY to put ethanol free exclusively in the bike. pure-gas.org to find ethanol free stations. They have apps for apple and android.

My total today was about 45 miles or so, not much but it got the cob webs out of me feeble mind:wink2:

Yep, darn near freezing this morning. I still hate cold weather. That didn't change this summer.

What was it, 60 degrees?

Our HIGHS this week are somewhere around there! Perfect riding weather - if it wasn't raining .

My wife and I took a nice ride to the local bike night at the Chatterbox drive in. A beautiful night but it's already starting to get cooler, the crowd was smaller than usual but it was still a good time and good food. Best of all was finally having the pleasure of meeting George, aka Offcenter from this forum.
We have been in the same place at the same time a few times but always missed each other but he spotted us right away and came over and introduced himself and we proceeded to talk bikes and riding till the sun went down!

Thanks for the pictures, Mike!
Great finally meeting you and Candy.
Say hi to her for me.

As Mike said, he and I have been just missing each other for about two years now. He and Candy would come to the diner near my home, and I'd drive right past his house to visit a friend of mine up his way. And of course we both would go to the Chatterbox for bike night. But we never could seem to meet up.
Finally!! It's over !!! LOL!!!
Ride safe, Mike and Candy and I'll look for you again at the Chatterbox.

Well fer cryin' out loud!
Come over and say hello!
145 miles this morning! I want to ride so much I feel like a newlywed:grin:

I was on a curvy and hilly country road doing about 40 mph and about 200 feet in front of me I see a car go in to my lane, facing me and he stopped to get his mail--while still in my lane and almost in the middle of it:surprise:

By now, there are several cars stopped, one in back of me and one on my left that saw the entire thing. I'm right at the passenger window, hollering for them to roll down their window and when they did I raised my voice and asked why in the world he'd do something so dangerous like that for and he said "well I was gonna turn into my driveway but I decided to stop for my mail":surprise: I said that you do know that you are almost in the center of my lane? He got frustrated and then said he was sorry and I said the same for raising my voice to him:angel:

I saw it coming so I didn't panic but this is the way I belive that most bikers get killed is when someone turns left into their path.:plain:

Thank you JESUS:wink2:

Went on a charity ride today. About 20 bikes. It was rough luck for the organizers, there were several things going on within 50 miles. They were plan A, I had a plan E, all on the bike, plus I found out about the funeral of a well liked biker this afternoon. It was about a 20 mile run, stop, 20 miles back to the first rally point, so short run altogether. Met several good folks, rode in some beautiful weather.
Got back from the most excellent summer cruise.
Check the three currently running bikes. Yami. No go. Battery dropped too many volts. Deep Purple. Crank crank and fire. Bluzu. Took the battery off the tender, installed, lights, push button, nothing. Jump up and down and curse, count to ten, Bluzu fired. I think the solenoid got stuck for a short while, then finally decided to move. Bluzu is running fine.
Charged the battery for Yami, and monitored for a few days. Slowly going down in volts, when not on life support. ( Tender )
Today. Bought new battery for Yami. Old battery will do to fire Laramie as long as I keep it on live support. This fall and winter. Buy new bits for Laramie and get him ready for next year.

Unkle Krusty
Round trip of 50 miles to jury duty that was cancelled. Great riding weather. Got home and washed the love bugs off. It looks much better now.

I think we might need forum patches for recognition purposes ;-)

I rode with my Wife's club, the local Indian riders group, to meet up with a bigger group then a group ride into a reserved area at the Flat track race in Mechanicsburg, PA. 50 Indians and 2 Victorys. I felt like Custer at the little big horn ;-)
Speaking of Indians I've never seen so many in my life, lots of Harley's here of course ( not far from the Harley plant in York), but there were Indians everywhere, they must have sold a ton. Of course the Indian riders knew their factory team had a good chance of making history at that race so it was the place to be.

The races were a blast, Indian kicked butt as expected and clinched the championship for the year with 2 races left. Candy got her tshirt signed by Meese, the new champion and that made her day!

You are both lucky to have been able to see history in the making. But noticed your picture of all the Indians, I don't see a single Blue Diamond Roadmaster. I'm sure there had to be some but it's becoming clear that I got 1 of very few.
Changed out the clutch cable this past weekend, that made a big difference!!
There was one, and only ONE Blue Diamond Roadmaster that I saw, I actually pointed it out to my wife and told her it was what yours was. She remembered you as the guy that suggested her PCVX Christmas present.

Enjoy the rarity, it was one out of probably 500 Indian bikes there, including the ' little' group of 50 that I rode in with.

I actually felt bad for the big group of Harley riders that were parked in the infield ( their dealer was the BIG Sponsor for the event, got them VIP parking), the Harley's were at best "also rans" in the races after the Indians and the metrics.

Nah, don't feel bad for them. Harley has dominated flat track racing longer than any of us have been alive so it's good for the others guys to win now and again. It keeps the Harley guys grounded, gives hope to the other fellows and let's them feel the joy of victory, and improves the breed as a whole.

You can bet the engineers are all hard at work right now...
