Me and my lady went for a nice ride on the Street Glide to a nice restaurant in Evansville, Ind. It has been a beautiful day.

Wow Dianne, I feel bad even posting this after reading yours!:surprise:

At least on a Harley, everything is simple and normally easy to get at---compared to other multi cylinder bikes!

On my built, Dyno winning FLHS, I had an S&S Super 'G' carb, with their air cleaner teardrop cover and a K&N inside. A Pingle extreme flow fuel valve functioned very well too. I also had a race prepped intake manifold-maybe S&S, with the Teflon (?) intake manifold seals. All of this was a model of simplicity to work on:grin:

Yesterday, I put my brand new CTX1300 on my full size hydraulic lift to just check it out and finely detail the 'undercarriage' and wax everything in sight:wink2:

I also finish mowed 7 acres:plain:

I cursed World of Powersports... the go-between company that my shop orders Kawasaki parts through. Chiefly because they never bothered to tell Brenda at Starting Line that the part I ordered was on back-order, and that is why the shipment has been delayed a week... mind you, about a half dozen others had parts coming in this shipment, and World of Powersports has SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS to NOT hold a shipment due to parts being on back-order. (Hey, I'm a Marine, and a Marine ain't happy unless he has something to bitch about)

I would have gone for a ride today, but I had to take someone to an appointment, and I was not taking him AND his wife on my bike lol. (Maybe if I had a sidecar rig...)
This blasted hurricane and that blasted tropical storm off the east coast are screwing everything up. Changed the oil in the bike Saturday. Installed the cell phone holder behind the wind screen. Replaced a vacuum line that I busted taking the tank off to run the wires for the cell phone charger that is part of the knock off ram-x mount. Also removed all those dang LED's some brilliant one put all up under EVERYTHING on the poor bike, then couldn't figure why it kept blowing fuses. It had 6 bars, and 8 little pods. Got all of them except the one mounted to the inside, bottom of the back fender. That was a horrid mess of wiring with no connectors. Just twisted wires electrical taped together. Had plans to leave after work Thursday and ride to NC. That isn't happening now. I polished it and everything.

130+ miles today in beautiful 80 degree, no wind, blue skies weather. I would have went further but a Chinese Buffet caught my eye and having ate way to much:wink2: I decided to head back home!

My new CTX1300 is a joy to ride. My first tank I got 58.6 mpg @ around 55-60 mph:grin:

Just looked at them L10 or what ever they are calling it has decided that we need even more rain than the 7.11" we have had so far in August (30.83" for the year) Our average is 3.3" in August and 40 for the year.
I know you feel like you're getting way more than your share of rain. But, in many parts of SE Texas, we have had between 30 and almost 50 inches of rain. And it's not quite over yet. Hurricane Harvey is making history. I had actually been praying for rain but not that much. I have actually been lucky. We have only had about 10" of rain in the last 5 days.

Oh I know that, they are getting biblical rain, I keep expecting to see an Arc in Houston. I have friends and relatives down there so I have been keeping in touch to make sure they are okay.
No Arc yet but I've never seen so many aluminum boats floating around neighborhoods. What part of Houston do your friends and relatives live in? I'm glad I don't live in that part of Texas any longer. Too many people and too much traffic. Our kids, grandkids and friends live in League City and Friendswood.

Not sure where the friends live in Houston, but most of my friends and relatives are in the San Antonio, Dallas, and Austin area.

Dammy... Because of my carpel tunnel, thats a mandatory feature for me.
Road to work in the rain. Had a semi truck on the highway decide he was going to be cheeky and ride about 5ft behind me. I thought he was lacking in geological decorations, so I sent him one air mail. I guess he liked it because he slowed down after presumably to admire his new rock.
I can't tell you how many times I've thought about doing this and never have. I've always thought about tossing a handful of ball bearings on the road and see if I can make 'em bounce just right. I hate tailgaters. But, I don't drive in the fast lane and make someone go around me either. I move over and let them get by.

It was in the upper 70's today, said the heck with the chores and took the Yammie out for a ride. A full tank of gas later I came home. Gas is up to $2.37 already. About a nickel higher than last week.
Yesterday I went out for a short ride. At one point I needed to cross a divided highway. Apparently, NC DOT doesn't know how to to make two level portions. I got heavy on the throttle to get out of the intersections quickly and found myself a foot in the air. No worries, I landed on two wheels, with a shot of adrenaline.

Once I got back, I found out that I had a family outing planned with one too many people to sit comfortably in one vehicle. I volunteered to take one for the team...

My brother and I took the Aeros out for a nice 85 mile run around the parish backroads. Cool 68 when we left out and a nice 82 on the return 2 1/2 hours later. Gassed up on the way home, 60.6mpg for me, 59.3 mpg for him. Radios are working out nice, good to talk every now and then. He ordered his son and son in law a set, should be in by next weekend in time for a group ride.
I just returned from a so called 'Breakfast ride' to Baxter Springs, Kansas, about 40 miles away as the crow flies. No restaurants were open, only fast food and gas station cuisine so it was a 'Casey's Sausage, egg and cheese Biscuit and coffee!':smile_big:

I made a couple of new friends as we munched our breakfast and discussed what we'd do to North Korea and that ugly SOB with the bad haircut that runs the place, if we had the chance:grin:

92 total miles at 93 degrees was a little warm:wink2:

The CTX1300 rules:grin:

Over the weekend, I did this. Can't wait for the Vista cruise to get in. I'm sore in places I didn't even know I could be sore. Totaled out at close to 700 miles. Averaged about 40 mpg. Filled up at a marina on the island before I left with 90 octane, non ethanol. That tank was pushing 60. Also kept it under 80 the whole tank. Remind me again why we have ethanol in our fuel?
