Me and my lady went for a nice ride on the Street Glide to a nice restaurant in Evansville, Ind. It has been a beautiful day.

Wow, if you were in Pen Argyl you probably rode right past my house, I live on 512. It was a great day to ride, this evening was especially nice.

Our paths could have crossed today, time was limited but my wife and I took a short ride tonight around what we call "the loop", Start in Bangor at home, down hill on 512 to 191, then 191 to Belfast (stopping in the Elementary school parking lot for 20 minutes so I could practice slow U turns riding the Vision) , then up Sullivan Trail (past Petey's) to Wind Gap, then 512 to Pen Argyl and then back downhill to Bangor.
Yes, I certainly DID pass your house! I took 512 into Pen Argyl right through Bangor. Going back, I picked up 191 in Bangor and followed that to Belfast road where I made a right and rode up to Petey's.
After that, I took the back roads to Martin's Creek and the Belvidere Bridge where I crossed back to Jersey. We'll have to see if we can meet up some day, Mike.
My brother used to live in Martin's Creek, I still have a couple of nephews in that area.
Beautiful bike GatorJoe. I'm sure you are enjoying it on some fast curvy roads. Do they have those in Florida? LOL
We have a few, yeap. But most of them have flat turns with lots of sand in the corners and the occasional alligator and huge turtle.
Eye - so it is like a rally course?
Changed the oil on both bikes. Nice, relaxing job.
Swapped out the stock windshield for a -2 incher on the GL1800.
Changed both low beam bulbs on the GL1800. (Cursed out both of them.)
Got NY State inspection for both bikes.
A productive day off.
I took a little ride to my daughters and son in laws house for a bbq steak dinner they invited me too....it was nice out on the way there, but getting nasty looking on the way home, we are supposedly getting a heavy thunderstorm tonight with hail.....glad I got home before it was supposed to hit

oh, and round trip was only 10 miles lol
I rode back roads this afternoon from my home in North Carolina up to Danville, Virginia. Did a little sightseeing - stopped and had a nice dinner then rode back after dark. Over 100 miles round-trip. Great ride!

We have the same obstacles here in southern Louisiana..gators and turtles litter the roadway on the isolated back roads....the gators not so much seems as though they have enough sense to stay on the shoulders:icon_cool:
Got the 'control cable kits' from England Wednesday so I made up new throttle, clutch, and front brake cables yesterday. Also picked up an old set of Will & Max bags at a charity auction (for a whopping $35!) so got everything installed.

Danville and the area is a very pretty area to ride in, the guy I bought my Vision from lived in Chatham, originally we were going to meet there or Danville but he decided he wanted one last ride on his bike before selling it so instead he rode it to Roanoke and we did the deal there.

I used to like rt 86 from Hillsborough to Danville. Beautiful ride through the countryside.
Yesterday I rode the Vstar into work, I need a new battery for the Vision (it works but it's old and weak, it's being delivered today so why tempt fate?), and oh boy did I underestimate the weather..it was 50f when I went to bed but a cold front rolled in and by 4 am when I left for work it was 25f! I was dressed Ok, not great, just OK, and I did use my heated gloves, but I quickly realized that riding the Vision behind that big fairing has me very spoiled, that was a COLD ride.
Going home it was back up to 63 degrees, crazy weather!

I didn't ride in today, the weather is great now but I'm doing a 17 hour shift and it's supposed to get really nasty and stormy tonight, I didn't feel like riding home at midnight in a windy downpour.
Looking great!

The next few days will have the bike parked.....rain predicted until Friday evening..bummer...but the weekend is looking pretty good..
A little saddle soap on those bags and they will look as good as new Dianne and match the rest of the bike.
I came back last night on 86. I went up yesterday afternoon on a lot of little back roads, exploring the countryside.

Life is good! :)

Holding off changing the oil and filter on the Limited....waiting for the rain to finally taper off
The weather looks downright awful around here the next few days, it's either supposed to be raining, thunderstorming, blowing 60 mph, and or snowing, with predicted temps varying between 75 and 20. I have a feeling I won't get in much riding.
I got the new battery for the Vision yesterday, filled it with acid, let it sit 2 hours as instructed, then put it on the charger. I'll put it in the bike tomorrow at some point. That Yuasa YTX20HL-BS is one big battery for a motorcycle, it's much bigger and heavier than the battery in the Vstar, it probably could start my car in a pinch.

I would think you would want to install a sealed battery on your bike. Keep from having to add water to it in the future
