Well I did it

I decided today to go checkout my dream bike; the 07 Shadow Spirit, well needless to say it's sitting in my driveway waiting to be driven. I know lots of people advised against buying a new bike for a first bike, but what the heck, some folks just have to learn the hard way. Thanks for all the input

I guess you can tell I'm still new at this (driven) :) Yea well, I already have all my gear but no license. Took the MSF safety course and test but not the written test as yet. Our friendly DPS here doesn't work on Saturdays and I find it difficult to go there during the week. I will however make time Tomorrow

Good luck and congrats on your first bike. I dunno, I'm new to this site but I disagree about not buying new. Most people say not to buy new cuz you'll crash it. Meh, I don't think that's true at all....unless you haven't ever ridden a bicycle.

IMO it's important to get what you like/want. Why?? Because when you have what you like/want you're more likely to ride and the more you ride the better you'll become. Where is it written that just because you're new you will crash?? It's not a guarantee and I don't think it's even the norm....I seriously doubt anyone has studied it.

So be safe and if your riding and get scared, remember to look where you want to go. Don't focus on what you want to avoid. Ride defensively and you'll have many years of fun, safe riding. It's a great sport/hobby.
