Laid the bike down into a ditch going too fast around a turn...

Rode it back home after some difficulty keeping her running. Ended up having to open the idle screw all the way or she would suddenly drop RPMs and stall. After a less than perfect ride home I took a closer look and found oil leaking from the exhaust port.

Took apart the exhaust, inspected and reassembled it (used the same gasket) and the nuts had been pretty loose. Now the oil leaks from the connection between the port and the pipe. Where before it was from the port and engine head.

If I change the exhaust pipe gasket will that solve my issue or do I need to take apart the head and inspect the pistons/shaft/rings etc too?

The exhaust gasket doesn't provide an oil barrier, so that's not where the oil leak is coming from. My guess would be the valve cover gasket or possibly the head gasket.

There may be other gaskets up top on that model that could leak, but I'm not very familiar with any.
