Hello all, I am very new to motorcycles and just bought a 2006 V-strom. Now I knew when buying this bike that the throttle was sticky, but I didn't know much, so my question is should I put a stop screw? Also I saw that I probably just need to clean the throttle. I am not very mechanically apt yet but I am very willing to start learning and if there's tips or anything you guys can chare with someone who is maybe not used to this yet it would be greatly appreciated!

Yep, start with lubing them or you can go all out and replace them. There are several good videos on YouTube for your education before diving into it cold turkey.

I third the lube the cables. Go to any local to you dealership for the cable lube or an auto part store and get what you need. I prefer silicone spray for my cables, unless they are rusty, then I use a penetrating lube like PB Blaster.
