I have a 2009 V Star 950 that sat up for a while. It ran and then the fuel pump went out. Changed it and cleaned the system. Now the new fuel pump will not come on when the key is cycled. I have hooked it direct and the pump runs fine. It is not a fuse.....i checked all of them including the main fuse. Help me please. I hate electrical problems.

Well, there's more than one way to skin a cat. Run a wire directly to the battery. Right next to the battery, add a in-line fuse. Then, somewhere easy for you to reach, and best if kept mostly out of sight, add a toggle switch. If there's a short, the in-line fuse will blow preventing any damage.

When you get on, reach down and flip the toggle switch, crank the engine and go. It's not the way the factory designed it to work but it will work and get you back on the road.
