So for 3 grand used I can either get a 2009 XT250 or the 2002 Dr650 dual sport bike, which is the better deal?

DR650SE (2002) description: Used, Dual Sport Motorcycle, White, 644cc, 4-stroke, 4-valve, SOHC, single cylinder, air/oil coo cc, 17,330 mi., 324 lbs. Compact & lightweight SOHC 4-stroke engine tuned for strong low and midrange power. Engine weight has been reduced through use of a compact crankcase, cylinder, cylinder head, engine covers, and a single counterbalancer system.

XT250 (2009) Description: Used, Dual Sport Motorcycle, Two-tone White / Blue, SOHC, 4-stroke single cc, 478 mi. Long-travel suspension and more than 11.2 inches of ground clearance live under a seat only 31.9 inches from the ground on the XT250. You also get electric start, 245 millimeter front disc and 203 millimeter rear disc brakes for superior stopping power on both paved and unpaved surfaces.

(first time buyer by the way. Looking to ride mostly on asphalt for work for 30 minutes a day, and in the mountainside dirt trails every week or so. Will use the freeway rarely. Looking for best deal, bike is going to be my starter.)
