4 quarts of oil is an awful much to have to add.

So today was the first time I took my bike out in a while my bike was running really weird so ever since I bought it I went through many problems with it finally I switched spark plugs and it was running fine. Until it started to over heat I checked the coolant and it seemed fine so I looked at the little window for oil and it looked completely empty. Since I had just done an oil change when I got the bike about 2 months ago I thought it may have just burned off since I kept running the bike although it was acting weird. I put in another 4 quarts today without draining the rest and I might’ve screwed up big time. I ran it around my neighborhood everything fine but then I decided to run it to a friends house on the way there white heavy smoke cane out the exhaust but I thought nothing of it since I hadn’t ridden it in a while. I got to my friends everything seemed fine. On my way back I decided to do a pull and everything died on me. I realized that smoke was coming from the motor itself. And that something is leaking what could I have done....?

Are you checking the sight glass with the bike sitting upright?
Put far too much oil in from the sounds of it. Stand the bike upright/ level, check window, if the oil is out of sight, simply drop the drain plug for a matter of seconds, recheck and do this until it is below or level to the top line.So today was the first time I took my bike out in a while my bike was running really weird so ever since I bought it I went through many problems with it finally I switched spark plugs and it was running fine. You will get messy but it us necessary!
4qts!! What kinda bike is this? My Harley only takes a bit over 2 and that is pretty typical unless it’s a Boss Hoss or maybe a 6 cylinder Goldwing.
What kind of bike is it? Did you check the oil with the bike on the sidestand?...looked at the little window for oil and it looked completely empty....
That would be a radical overfill, possibly enough to damage the engine orI put in another 4 quarts today without draining the rest and I might’ve screwed up big time.

Stop using the bike until you find out how much oil is in it.what could I have done....?
Check the owners handbook or service manual for details.
For bikes with a centre stand and a sight glass, checking the
oil level is very easy. If you only have a side stand, it can be
very difficult to check unless you have an assistant to hold
the bike vertical while you check the sight glass or dipstick.
Hopefully it will be ok when you remove the excess oil. Good Luck.
With all the chaos I'd just drain all the oil, make sure it's all out, and then put the measured right amount back in and start fresh. If your lucky it will be OK.

I don't know how much oil your bike holds, but if it already had oil and you added 4 quarts, there is probably too much in it. That means it could well be pumping oil out a breather and on some bikes that means also to the air cleaner box. That leads to an oil saturated air filter which will leak on the ground and gunk up the inside of your carb.
So I would follow the advice above and drain all oil as in a regular oil change, then add the prescribed amount. If you check the level then, you'll know that's where it should be when it has the proper amount. Also, check your air cleaner to be sure it's clean and dry.

Hit and run poster, troll? 24 hours since posting and zero replies certainly suggests this. As suggested in case you aren't too embarrassed to reply, start all over. Drain all the oil and put a new air filter in if it's a paper filter and hope you didn't create more serious problems. But how about introducing yourself too.
Didn’t think people would actually reply quickly on here. But my bike is a 2008 Kawasaki ZZR600 it’s the first bike I’ve owned. Hopefully I didn’t blow my head gasket but I’ve procrastinated on working on it today I will indeed get to work on it tomorrow thank you to everyone for all the suggestions.
I would not waste anymore time explaining why he should not have added four quarts of oil. Every poster has given solid advice as to what should be done. Adding four quarts of oil because it looks low in the sight glass is asinine. I think you're right Larry, this guy is just making "conversation," as poorly as it is.

Sounds like you shouldn't be owning a bike.
You don't give much info. However, you should just drain the oil, replace the oil per mfgr's requirements, replace the filter. You may have blown out seals in the engine. When all that oil gets squished, it looks for weak points on where to go. Seals are the softest component to give way.
BTW, if your site glass looked like it didn't show any oil, it could have been overfilled then. Clean oil looks clear through the site glass which may have fooled you into believing there was no oil in the engine.

If you didn't know how to check the oil level, how are you qualified to diagnose the problem? Sounds like you're going to pull the head off and just skip the diagnosis part. As many have said, drain the oil and replace along with the filter. Do a compression check. If you don't know how to do that, don't touch the bike. Take it to a qualified mechanic.
I was surprised to learn that this ZZR600 takes 4 quarts of oil plus filter. I guess that may be where he got the idea of putting 4 quarts in the crankcase. He took a shot, but it may have hit his foot..

My Ninja takes 3 litres, which I think is about 3.2 quarts.
2 quarter bikes
Sometimes when you look at the window it is hard to tell the level when the bike is on the center stand. Use a torch ( flash light ) put the bike on the side stand, pull the bike towards you and observe the oil rising in the window. Do not ride your bike if there is obviously something wrong. Like lots of white smoke from the exhaust pipes. Often the oil quantity is stamped on one of the casings. If not, do some research and find out how much it takes. Drain it and start again. And do it properly or else.

Just about all, or maybe most(?), of the Japanese bikes give an oil capacity on the side cover near the sight glass or dipstick. Don't remember if the ZZR600 has that.
