Well i didn't see a place for this, so started a thread.
It can be moved of needed....
I am looking for longer life rear tire for my Ninja 650...
It takes a 160/60-17 rear.
I'm wondering if a 170/60-17 mite fit my bike..?
How much differance would there be between a Pilot road 4 ...160/60-17 and a 170/60-17 ...?
I'm thinking on the GT pilot road 4 maybe next time for longer life...
It's made for heavier bikes...n i don't run a track...mostly tour...
The 160 or 170 is width right....n the 60 is height.....
I don't have much room between the top of the tire n that plastic fender thingy, but do have about 1/2 inch on the sides from the chain to tire.
I don't want anything to be rubbing 4 sure....

The 170 is 10mm wider than the 160.

The 60 means the sidewall is 60% as tall as the tire is wide.

So a 170/60 tire would be 10mm wider and 12mm taller than a 160/60.

Guess i better start measuring the bike then....
but i think i don't have the height 4 room...

That's 12mm total height, but only an additional 6mm from the axle to the fender.

NNnn that's all i had....
I have a pilot road 3 almost worn out there now with about 3/8 inch of room....
I'll stick with the 160/60-17 pilot road 4 i have coming....
That spose to have 20% longer life then the pilot road 3...
I'm averaging about 8,000 miles on the road 3... n hope the road 4 mite go 10,000...
