As a sign of age my wife insisted I sell the snowblower a few years back and contract with a service to plow out our large parking area and long driveway, and they shovel the sizable walkway and front steps as well. They charge me $42.50 each time they come, and they only come if we get 2 inches or more of accumulation. Up until last week they had only plowed once this entire winter, but have come twice since then. But I'm feeling pretty good that when this mess disappears we will be good to go for riding, and I;m keeping my fingers crossed.

In my dreams I contract for snow removal. At 73 years, I am as young and capable as anyone else in my neighborhood - there are no employable yung'uns in this neck of the woods. The handful young enough to be potential labor are full time gadget and gizmo operators far too busy to employ their bodies in anything that might get them accused of, gasp!, productivity.

$42.50??? Holy cow!
"IF" I could find someone to do that here, they'd probably charge me $142.50!!

Noon here. It's been snowing all night, and it's STILL snowing.
Mike721 is far enough south that he's probably getting rain or sleet.
I just got done plowing four inches of this **** and everything is covered again.

Yep, I got nothing at home other than rain and some flurries, Newark Airport got a wet snow/rain/sleet mix that melted right away but still made a mess.

We doubled our snow amount with this latest storm. We are now up to .2". If we stay here it will be the least amount of snow since they started tracking these things. .3 was to previous record in 91 I believe

In the four days since my last post here, we had around six inches of snow.
Then I came down with a miserable cold.
Then it got warm and most of the snow melted.
And today I finally started to feel a bit better. (Not "well" by any means)
And two parts I ordered for the Goldwing turned out to be the wrong parts.
Not a good week.

Good thing it wasn't that Covid junk. You'd still be down with it. I'm over my Covid for the most part. Back to being as normal as I ever was but oddly the taste of food just doesn't seem the same. Off for some reason. Some of my favorite are no big deal now and others seem like they changed the recipe or something. Still okay but just way different. Really strange. At least I'm blaming Covid. I have no idea if that's the cause of the taste change or just another change in my young developing taste buds. NOT!!!

Same here. My sense of taste has never come back completely. You'd think I'd lose some weight!

Probably eat more now because nothing is getting satisfied. Like sugar, salt, spices, so we keep eating looking for them. I know I’m sure not losing weight but do seem to be adding a few a week. I don’t want to shut the pie hole but looks like I’m going to have to. 😢

An automotive radio just doesn't look right
without a vertical orange toothpick
that slides left and right. "

You forgot the two CONELRAD indicators......

I remember when there was good music on the AM band .

The curb whiskers, three on the tree and others are bragging right these days .

Sad to hear of those suffering in the snow .

We're still getting pounded by rain, houses and roads falling down etc.

I gave up trying to work and am hanging out with my Sweet, I hope to get sun or at least no rain Thursday and Friday so I can finish up my Death Valley trip preparations .

And pulling one of the buttons out and pushing it back in would set that station to what today would be called memory for later direct selection. Something kids today would probably never figure out.

That's going back a ways, i remember those radios but it's been a LONG time.
Pretty soon, "A car radio? What's a radio?"

We are enjoying a brief return to those days here in the NYC area.
Waaay back in the early 60s, when I was about 11 years old, the BIG man on the radio was Cousin Brucie on WABC AM.
Well, after all these years, Cousin Brucie is back on ABC every Saturday night, sounding every bit as good as he did when I was a kid. It's amazing! The guy is 87 years old! And he's still on for four hours every Saturday night playing the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s.
It's nice to turn on the radio on Saturday and have it sound exactly as it did when I was a kid.
