The Motorcycling Gods must not like me

After a few nice days a couple of weeks ago, days where I was able to get out for several hours of riding, the weather has returned to nasty, windy and relatively cold. This morning its 39 degrees, and winds strong enough that I just had to retrieve my trash cans and recycle bins from halfway down the block. The few nice days we have had lately I have had commitments that I could not change or cancel, so my plans to finally be able to take a demo ride on the new bike I am considering keeps being put off again and again. I'm too old to be wasting this much time without riding. Maybe I did something to offend the Gods of Motorcycling, like openly say that I am planning on trading in my Goldwing, or rolling my eyes when my neighbor asked me if I was going to buy a Harley!

The owner of the Roadmaster, which is heavier than my Goldwing, said he did not have a Reverse feature. It took three of us to push this monstrously heavy bike back to where he could ride it away. Thinking of that, I wondered if this Indian trike has a Reverse. My Spyder has a true Reverse gear and I use it every day. A thousand pound ride without Reverse seems insane.

Once I was on a club ride to some festival with motorcycle parking in a lumpy grass field.
The bunch of us were all directed to park in a spot where we couldn't pull out forward.
We go to leave and everyone was busting a gut trying to push these heavy bikes backwards.
I simply put the Goldwing in reverse and backed out.
The guy next to me yelled, "That's cheating! You suck!"

I've got the skirts but they are at the painter getting similar graphics as the saddlebags have.

I absolutely love the reverse I now have on my trike. I don't worry about parking ANYWHERE. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I can SO dig that. I went to an office for business, was in a hurry and parked on a slightly downward slope.
didn't quite realize it till I was walking back to the bike and um saying" Uh OH." concrete bars then bushes.
I had lucked out and a guy seeing me trying to back up a 700 and sumthin pound wide glide gave me a hand
or two. Turned out he rode back in the day and got himself in a similar situation.

Yup! Love the forward and reverse parking assist My bike has. Very handy in gravel too or slight hills so you don’t have to push 964 lbs.
Its actually strong enough to back the bike up with a loaded trailer attached and both rider & passenger seated. A real hernia saver!
