I have a strange problem with my Suzuki Intruder VS800. The bike works fine except for Fourth gear. Whenever I change into fourth the engine dies. Electrics stay on but it is as if the side-stand has been deployed. I have disconnected the side-stand but the problem persists.
PLEASE HELP!!!

You say you disconnected the side-stand; do you mean the switch, or did you remove the stand? It's not uncommon for the switch to get sticky with grime, and something about hitting fourth is jogging it enough to momentarily open.

The side-stand switch must be closed to let the engine run while in gear. You can unplug the switch and jumper the connections, or, behind the rear engine cover, you'll find the wires that lead to the switch, conveniently made so that you can bypass the switch there, by plugging them together. The wire colors are green and black/white stripe.
