Hello all, I have a couple favors to ask. I was quoted $2,000 to check and adjust the valves on my 2008 Suzuki Boulevard S50. That’s what I pays for the bike. That ain’t happening. I want to do the work myself (I am mechanically inclined). I want to use the right manual. I have a Chiltons but am not confident of the instructions. Is there a better reference out there? Would you think $2,000 for a valve adjustment is right?

I have a pdf copy of the factory service manual. I can send the two pages on how to adjust the valve clearances. It helps to remove the tank, and you may want to get some small wrenches you can bend to fit under the frame better (but not necessary) I've done it several times, and it gets easier each time. I think the $2000 quote is their 'go somewhere else' price, but that's only my opinion.
Send me a PM with your email address, and I can send those two pages.
