Thinking of putting a conversion kit on 883 iron for a 250 tire. Will the sportster pull that large a tire or will it struggle

It takes no more power to run a fat tire than a thin tire. The biggest impact of a fat tire is on handling. It is always harder to initiate a turn and to maintain it with a fat rear tire. There are lots of bikes designed to make that handling a bit easier but a Sporty should be used with the tire it is designed to use.

Oh, I had heard that with the weight of a conversion kit and the weight of the much larger tire/wheel that the engine may struggle

If for style, modify the tire tread width is pretty cool. The concept Street fighter / Minor fighter... :)
Mainly for looks. I understand it will change the handling but I don't want to overwork the motor. I have considered the wide tire with a thicker tread (street fighter) front tire, just not sure how it would look

Am Sure it's quite doable but the handling especially Turns and Curves will take a lot more effort ..
