Was doing top speed in the rain on my CBR500R and did a reckless pass by using an merge zone. Their was one of those black strips they use to cheap repair road cracks and it was slicker than ice. My tire instantly broke traction and I put my foot down to keep the bike up. My boot slid and did exactly what I wanted it to. I got it upright and hit another black tar patch and broke traction again. I didn't have to put my foot down that time but regained control...Believe it or not, but that's my story...I also have lost control on ice and used this method a different time. It's great when it works, but I can't imagine how bad it would be if my foot hooked up with traction. Both times I inspected my boot and you couldn't even see any signs of wear...
