ok i have straight pipes on it, and pod style air filters. i was thinking about going 5 sizes up on each main jet. i know that there are different "models" of jets and am wondering which ones i would have to order for the bike, or if anyone has any other suggestions? also with the straight pipes there is no back pressure, is this a bad thing? thanks a lot

5 sizes might get it, you'll have to check your plugs after you try it. There's a million sites on the net about jetting motorcycles.

Mains go by 5's like 105, 110 and so on where pilots go by 1's like 38, 39 and so on. You're going to have to play with it and find a good bike shop that will let you exchange jets. At $5 a wack it could add up real fast

You are correct. Try it out for a short run with stock jetting then check your plugs. I'll bet it's way lean and it will probably ping and run hot. I would go up 3 sizes on the mains to start out and maybe 2 sizes on the pilots.

Exactly. Give 3 on the mains a try then go from there. You can take your jets to a bike shop and they can match them up with the correct style or research it on the internet to see what style yours takes. There should be a brand name on the carb (Mikuni, Kehin) and then you can go from there.
