Hello All:

I just picked up a cheap, used GPS (Garmin 50LM). I'd love to use this exclusively for my R1100RT. I have the GPS and the cigarette lighter adapter for it, but I do not have a mount. There are a multitude of aftermarket mounting options available for this model on Amazon.

I am undecided about the best way to mount this to the bike, as there really doesn't seem to be a perfect place to mount it. I'd like to have a handlebar mount, but the bars on the R1100 are not "round", so I'm not sure if this would even work. Would a suction cup mount work on the "curved" windshield? I'd also consider an adhesive mount, but the dash doesn't seem to be conducive, either.

I am also trying to figure out if I should just hard wire this to the battery, or if there is a better way to adapt the power plug.

If anyone has any ideas, or has experience with this, I'd love to hear it.

Thank you much!
