Please Help! Buying my first bike

Hi, I am thinking of buying a first bike. I found one which is 2002 CBR F4i with 20k miles.
Is that kind of a lot for a bike?
What would I need to pay attention to in order to check if everything is mechanically right?
Any advices?
Please help
Thanks

The first question is what kind of riding do you intend to do? Track days? Long rides on backroads? Interstate trips? Commuting? Cruise to bike night?
For your first bike, I would recommend a USED Ninja 250r or Ninja 500r. These bikes won't cost too much and they are EXCELLENT bikes to learn on. They are much more forgiving than supersport bikes when it comes to turning.

Once you get the hang of it, trade it in and get something you really desire!

Good luck!

What to look for...

To answer your question, it's been my experience that 20k isn't too large a number for mileage. What's more important is:
-Body Damage: scratches, dents, is everything looking right?
-Engine: will it start with a smooth sound, all gears run right?
-Tires: balding?
-Overall Appearence: 20K is alot, but not something to be sweating about. Spend about 10 minutes looking over the bike, listening to it idle and rev. That should tell you whether or not it's worth it. If there are a few things that are brought to your attention in this inspection, maybe you need to look for another possible sale.

It's a Honda, buy it if you like it. The only thing that would make me hesitate is if it looks like it has been stunted. I have a bajillion miles on my bike and it runs like a top (when it isn't crashed :p)
Every honda is good for hundreds of thousands of miles :)
