Depends on many factors, not the least being year make a model of bike. But to be honest, I've never heard any that sound good after. They sound tinny or hollow or even rattly in some cases. In most cases it will just force a person to go ahead and get good slip-on mufflers and even there the choices are never ending.

Just a soft metal hole saw. Might be called a wood/metal hole saw.

A lot of tool rental places have those hole saws available to rent. Usually less expensive than buying one that you'll never use again.
