I did this ride in September a couple years ago and never reported it. Rode my trusty Suzuki 650 VStrom. Wonderful Bike.

Typical Roadhouse along the way.

Finally, the Ayre Peninsula

To Adelaide, South Australia, then hopped the ferry to Kangaroo Island

Riding Paradise and well worth the ride to get there. Biggest fear I had was hitting one of these on the roadway, worse than deer.

Spent a week riding around the island, turned around and went back home to Perth. Trip took a month. Thanks for watching.

90 miles of straight highway, that had to be a deflating notice🙂

Interesting they they listed it as 90 miles as opposed to just the 146.6km. any idea why?

Also, that picture with all the rock in a straight line at the peninsula, what's that from?

Hi CRracer,

I could never figure out why miles were used instead of kilometers either. I just put the bike on auto-pilot and cruised being mindful of all the kangaroo roadkill on the highway. Passing road trains was another story :).

Based on the order of the photos taken, I believe the peninsula is near Cape du Couedic in the southwest.

@CRracer712 and @hogcowboy I humbly stating a fact when I say that I suck at ride reports. No question about it. As an explanation to the mysterious rock formation, on the Ayre Peninsula of South Australia there is indeed a structure belonging to the rock formation, It is in the middle of nowhere.

I'm tossing in a couple of Flinders Rocks from Kangaroo Island as well. Happy Riding....

And since this report is so upside down, here is a photo of the Great Australian Bight cliffs which run just meters in places from the Nullarbor (no trees) 2 lane major highway across Australia's South, primarily in Western Australia.

Ah yes, the 12 Apostles are down to 11 I believe as I heard one toppled. I passed through that beautiful area on another trip by cage from nearby Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Never actually saw them though. Cheers
