IMO, if you don't know the capacity, fill it til you see it at the proper level in the sight gage. Then, run it a couple of minutes to fill the oil filter and shut it off. Check it again. It should be low. Now, fill it to the full level on the sight gage, and you've put in the right amount. My new Suzuki has the capacity on it, but the manual also tells me to do it the way I described it to you so that it's right. It takes 4.8 quarts. I put in 4 quarts and then start it to fill the filter. Then, I use the last quart to top it off. Works well.
