1. Check the owner's manual under the seat - "capacities"
2. Check next to the sight glass for the oil level - it will be embossed as "ml' (milliliters).
My Bandit 1200 takes a little more than 4 quarts (including filter change). The oil container will have ml on one side. Be careful that you do not overfill. Bad things happen when you overfill! Bad Joo Joo! Drain it down, syringe some out - but do no run over full.
