Does anyone know the answer to this?
could a re-used head gasket cause a bike to burn half a litre of oil after just 20 miles?
This is what is happening to my sons honda cm 125, loads of blue smoke all the time from the 2 into 1 exhaust.
Pistons and rings are OK and fitted new valve stem seals but re-used head gasket could this be the problem?
(have no new head gaskets left one on order now)
Thanks for reading

If the head gasket is leaking, oil could easily get into the combustion chamber. Head gaskets are usually one-use only.

Thanks for your reply,I got the New head gasket fitted started the bike and guess what? Loads of smoke and after a while oil coming from the joint in the exhaust.
I think there is a possibility that the oil ways passing through the barrel are blowing oil out into the bores at the head gasket and rubber seals.
I have now decided enough is enough and this bike is to be no more, I am going to break it and sell the parts.
Thanks anyway.
