Well, I'm looking for my 2nd first bike. Let me explain, I got a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 about a month and a half ago. 2 weeks ago I was on the highway and a cager wipped out in front of me at the last second, I locked up the brakes, the bike went down, I got some road rash, the cager got a ticket, my bike got totalled, his fault, his insurance is paying EVERYTHING.
I was pretty sure I wanted the exact bike again but an '08 (color scheme mostly), I don't think they come out till the end of September and I don't think I can wait that long. So today I was checking out the Suzuki M50 online, and from what I can see, it might be more of a bike (little bigger engine, fuel injection, ect.) for pretty much the same $$.
What are your opinions as far as how the 2 bikes compare? I wouldn't mind going with a bigger bike but I want to stay in that price range.

This looks like a great place to learn about all bikes and I'm looking forward to being a part of the forum.

First of all welcome to the board! I am new here too...

Very sorry to hear about what happened to you and your bike, but I am glad that you are here with us today to share your experience.

As for the two bikes, I'd say it's a matter of personal preference, while I ride a Yamaha now, everything else I've riden has been a Honda so you might say I am a little biased. As for the '08 vs '07, if the bikes are the same, I'd see about saving a few bucks for accessories, but that is just me....:D

I almost bought the C50T, but told the salesman that if he sold me the C90T at the same price he quoted a month earlier, I would get it rather than the C50T. I ended up buying the C90T and love it! The C50T comes with all the goodies you'll probably have to buy extra on another bike that size, and that's what I liked about my C90T, everything but the rack was already there. My friend bought a Harley Softail Classic and paid twice as much as I did. Then, he had to invest another $1,500 to equip it like mine. Even at that price, his windshield doesn't have lowers like mine, and his saddle bags ae smaller and vinyl. Mine are leather. I don't think you could go wrong buying the C50T. Suzuki builds a good bike - this is my third one.

I've had the Shadow 750 and even though it was a good one I'd pick the Suzuki. My friend has one and loves it and the dealer is a good one too.
Some times the dealer makes all the difference.
