So I'm wanting to start riding and I've been looking at the Yamaha FZ-07. So far I haven't seen much complaints about the bike and people say it's a good beginner bike. Does this look like a good choice? I'm a small dude at 5'3" and 120 lbs and I want to get a good bike for me.

I think you would find that bike to be quite tall for you. I would look at a small cruiser; they sit lower to the ground.

Have you taken the MSF class and received your M endorsement yet? If not I suggest that first as you may come out of that class with an entirely different mind set. If you have, then it depends on what you want out of a bike What do you want the bike to do for you? For example; will you be commuting or will it just be for fun day rides?

Right now the motorcycle market is very soft, bikes are not selling at all so there are some great deals to be had on Craig's list, CycleTrader etc. I'd go look at and sit on as many bikes as you can.
