Hi to all; Question - I picked up 82 / 750 Yamaha Virago on a debt owed to me. I have 6 other bikes and figured what the heck one more for fun.
All looks good - she will start up with starting fluid or a little gas into carbs.
But won't start on her own - not getting fuel. Petcock fine and flowing - same with lines.
How much suction should fuel pump create on these ???
I can put my finger on tube and feel very slight suction - seems to me should be more - but really don't know ?
Any thoughts - I think I'll throw a new fuel pump on - but hate to spend the $80 bucks if not needed.

I'm not sure how much pressure the fuel pump has to have, but it should be listed in the service manual.

If you have free-flowing fuel, the fault likely lies in the internal fuel valve in the carb controlled by the float. Make sure the float is adjusted to spec and free-moving.
