Would any of you purchase a new bike, that is a 2010 model? Salesperson said it has never had gas in it and it has not been started. Any ideas on what to be aware of? Is this a bad idea? They are offering the bike at about $2000 less than the msrp. Thank you.

I would be fine with that if the bike started out at say $6000. When you decide you want a newer bike, we all end up there, you will be trading a 2010, not a 2015, and it will be valued accordingly by the dealer or private buyer. If I got that age difference up front on the new bike I would be just fine. If it is truly new you should also be getting a full new bike warranty, whatever that means on the brand you are looking at.

Not knowing the bike you're looking at I'm not sure about the discount. Remember, it's a 4 year old bike, doesn't really matter if it's never been started, it's still 4 years old. Go to Kelley Blue Book and look up the price on it, obviously it's in excellent condition, and use that price as a marker.
