Hello my name is Darren. I’m 18 years old, and I’m from iowa. I currently ride a 1998 GSX-R. I started out about a year and a half ago on a 06 ninja 500. I was never really mechanically inclined and I don’t know a whole lot about motorcycle maintenance, so this forum and many others like it have been a godsend so far. I look forward to learning as much as I can from everyone!

What kinds of things have you had to fix or improve on your bikes so far?

The first thing I learned to do was an oil change. That Helped me get used to taking off my plastics and putting them back on. Plus it’s basic but super essential. I had some clutch problems that I was able to figure out with a couple of searches.

2. I’m a fellow Iowonian from Ankeny, 40 years removed, Huntington Beach ever since. My first Bike that I owned new was on March 3, 1973 fromMathews Honda in Des Moines. Good luck with your bike. I remember waiting for April to ride again!
