I think it's the combination of the dual lights and the fat front tire that does it for me, because it doesn't look like the Speed Triple.

Maybe I've become an Old Harley Fart: "If it doesn't have a carburetor and vibrate your fillings loose, it's not a Harley!"

Won't be many Harleys left for you. I read the 08 Sportster will be EFI, rounding out the entire Harley family, no more carbs. And all the rubber mounting is making it hard to vibrate your fillings loose. :D

Plus, besides EFI, they're all, eventually gonna have cataletic converters and be liguid cooled. Sort of like the V-Rod....Hey!.. I heard it from the Harley dealer. :)^/
BTW,...I know the V-Rods are assembled in KC, but look close at some of the components,...Sure you don't want some sushi to go with that Jap bike?
(;^) Hey,..I'm sorry, LOL, somebody was bound to say it.

They already have a liquid cooled sportster prototype doing desert testing.

Interestingly, my FXR used to be ridiculed as being too Japanese. Now everyone complains that the Dyna is nowhere near as good a bike.

Actually, it's more like "want some bratwurst with that German bike". Harley contracted Porsche to build the engine for the V-Rod.
Porsche designed it, but I think Harley still manufactures it. We had a Porsche designed engine in our old Volvo 960. Car was a sleeper, but the maintenance on that engine was a nightmare. Timing belt every 30K miles.

Love this bike!!!!!Saw one yesterday. Fat front tire, dual disc front brake, Dyna chassis. This thing should be fun to ride. Will my wife like it? No. She wants a Ultra Classic with the BIG seat. Sounds like a call to Jenny Craig is in order....no?

Sounds like you had better start saving. Getting her her own Ultra to match your Bob is going to be expensive.

dual lights

The Buells have looked like that with two head lights for a while. I don't care for it but it seems to be catching on. I like the Triumphs and Buells except for this look.

As for the water cooling, Buell also is buying Rotax engines, as do many other bike companys, water cooled for their new 1125cc bike.

My 89 Sportster had, Made in Japan, under the air cleaner and bottom tripple tree. They buy from the same pot that keeps them all in business. Wish it weren't so but it is. What I don't like is 1/2 of the items, not their bikes, say made in china now at the Harley shop and everywhere but the price didn't go down.

I too like the shake and vibrate of the older Harleys air cooled designs.
