Hi my name is Dale.. I have a 1980 Suzuki gs250t. Bike is throwing oil out the gas blowby hole above the timing chain..Bad gasket? help please

Did you check it while the bike was on the side stand, or held upright?

Checked it on the upright stand so bike was level

Good - you might be surprised how many make that mistake!

Assuming there is no smell of gasoline in the oil, I'd start with a compression check.

Ya, agree with Wintersol, that's what I was getting at. Poor compression/blow-by will do that. A compression tester would be handy if you have one.

I noticed oil was very thin so I drained and will put in some 10w30 when new filter arrives and see how that does. Thanks for all the help. We will see.

No smell of gas so will get a compression tester.
