Did you buy the bike from a dealership? Could they arrange home delivery for you?

That's an interesting twist to a "learners license" that requires you to have a licensed rider to escort you. What the heck is the point of that? It's not like the expert rider can lean forward and help you if you get into trouble..

It's the same in Illinois. I've always thought the same thing, it's not like the other rider can do much if trouble happens. I guess there is a witness after the fact if there is a crash to let the new rider know what they did wrong.

My guess is that it is designed to be a deterrent to continually renewing the permit every year and never testing for the license. There are a lot of people who continue to do that, however.

Here in south Carolina you can ride by yourself with the permit except after dark. They change the law here to where you get your permit and to renew it you have to attempt the driving course. If you fail you get the permit, if you pass you get your license.

In Ohio they offer this service through the state. They will ride along with you for a first ride or whenever they would be able to better your education. It's like $50 to have a certified professional assist you.

One of the interesting aspects of the Internet is the tendency of people to post a message as if it was taped tot he wall in their local laundry mat.

Since the Internet (and YOUR post) can be read by anyone in the world, it is helpful to give an indication of your location on the Earth, so someone who may wide to help can determine of it is logistically possible.

The towns you mentioned SOUND like towns in Illinois, but they could be in any state in the Union, so unless you tell us where EXACTLY you will require an escort, your post is unlikely to receive a helpful response.

Hello Leblanka. Most people on here are located in the US but we are open to members from Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the UK and any other place where people can write in English. We even have bilingual members from Quebec, my original home. Maybe you could narrow it down for us. Even Alberta is a bit big for someone to just drop everything to help you. Where are you in Alberta? It is as big as several US states put together.
