I have a 2004 Softail Standard with a Dunlop MH90-21M/C 54H tire up front and a Dunlop 150/80B16 M/C 71H on the rear. I'm looking to buy custom wheels and I'd like to go with a wider rear tire if possible...not any wider than a 160 and I don't want to have to use a conversion kit. I called a Harley shop any they obviously recommended I stay with the current tire size, mentioning that a wider tire can rub against the drive belt.
I read that the front and rear tires should match; same model made by the same manufacturer. Considering all this, does anyone know of a solution that will work in my case? Or should I simply stay with the current size?
