Hi I'm 45 years old and live in Gothenburg Sweden. I'm an IT support technician and last year I bought an EU scooter to commute to my work, 30 km both ways, an EU scooter is a motorcycle with max 45 k/h and 50 cc engine and you are allow to ride in public roads with a car driver license. Everything went nice and I really enjoyed my ride the problem is that in roads with speeds of 70 and 90 k/h you can't really keep the pace with the traffic and the car drivers become impatient and want to pass and sometimes they do it so close just to show their disapproval that it becomes very dangerous.

That's why I decided to take the next step. Motorcycle license even though it is really hard an expensive here in Sweden and the weather conditions can be really thought so your ride can become very unpleasant. But for those lovely summer days it is totally worthy.

And I want to share my Road to it with you.

Traveling that far under the posted speed limit here in America, a cop might pull you over and give you a ticket. I have ridden bikes (motorized bicycles) that went no faster than 30mph in a 40mph zone, but I rode as far to the right as I could get usually and because its still a bicycle, they did not bother me. Realistically due to the laws in the state I was living in, they could have given me all kinds of fines and tickets for driving an unregistered motor vehicle without a license or insurance, impounded my bike, etc. I'm a little nervous vous because the bike I'm working on now really looks like a motorcycle, more so than any bike I've built so far. Anyway. Riding under the speed limit can be dangerous. So I'm glad you decided to get a bike that can keep up with traffic. Me, I ride all city, no highway, occasionally open country roads but they're a little easier to get around on, less traffic and whatnot. But it sucks that it has to be so expensive for you.

Thanks. Yeah it's quite crazy that here in Sweden you are allowed to drive an EU-moped class 1 ( 50cc and max speed 30mph) in some roads that the max speed is about 55mph
I'm glad I took a step forward an soon will be over and all the money and time I have spent it will be worthy because I really enjoy driving my Honda Dominator, it has enough power to keep up with the traffic and more, and I will never be left behind again on a stoplight.

I'm sorry I haven't post here for a while, I had my practical test some days ago and I failed it, I was very nervous and that made me do all kind of mistakes, I failed on the low speed maneuvers and the high speed maneuvers was not good enough either so I didn't went out to the traffic...

I felt miserable but recovered a couple of days later and went on to plan B which is going back to the traffic school do more practice and try again before the season is over, that means sometime in October.

Today I rode my Honda dominator an did about an hour of just low speed maneuvers, it felt very good, I wish I could do the test with that machine, I love the riding position and turning radius made it very easy to ride, but I can't do the test with it because I am taking the heavy bike license which must be done with a motorcycle with more than 40 kwatts effect and the Domie has 32
But not big deal, training is training and I feel that I have much more control of the clutch and throttle than I had before, so bit by bit I'm gaining confidence and skills. Tomorrow and on Thursday I will train in the driver's school.
